The Annual Appeal was a huge success! Please accept my heartfelt THANK YOU for your generosity!!! Below are some programs where your donation dollars are doing great work.

In 2023, the library hosted 734 programs, including 383 for children aged 0 to 11, engaging more than 7,500 children.

ABC Playgroup – ABC Playgroup for children ages 2 to 4 touches over 400 children weekly, combining volunteers and staff for ages 2 to 4.

Summer Reading Program – The Summer Reading Program attracted more than 500 participants in 2023. Prizes had to be replenished multiple times as our patrons enjoyed their love of reading.

Bookleggers – Bookleggers serves more than 600 3rd graders monthly during the school year. This is an outreach program in which volunteers take backpacks to 3rd-grade classrooms monthly. Thanks to your donations and grants from Colonel Robert H. Morse Foundation, Ecolabs, and Pieper Electric, the Booklegger collection will be completely updated for the start of the 2024-25 school year.

BookQuest – BookQuest, a supplemental reading program for 4th and 5th graders, includes author visits funded through your donations and a grant from the family of Judith H. Adams. Additionally, New Glarus Brewing Company sponsored the purchase of 500 books (From an Idea to Lego: The Building Bricks Behind the World’s Largest Toy Company) to be signed by the author, Lowey Bundy Sichol, for the children to receive.

Know Your Local Government – Beloit Public Library and Stateline Community Foundation have teamed up to present the civic education series titled Know Your Local Government. A special shoutout to the Stateline Community Foundation for sponsoring lunches for the Know Your Local Government Series, finishing up in March 2024.

 

Wednesdays at the Library – In 2023, Beloit Public Library hosted its fifth annual summer music and lunch series, Wednesdays at the Library (WATL), featuring live music and food trucks weekly throughout the summer. The goal is to bring the community together and provide an opportunity for a break and entertainment in the middle of the week throughout the warm summer months. Thanks to your donations, Wednesdays at the Library served more than 600 people in 2023.
