Hold an Item
Placing a Hold
Placing a hold on an item is easy at Beloit Public Library. You can do it yourself through our online catalog or through the SHARE Anywhere app, or you can call us at 608-364-2905, and a staff member can place the hold for you.
Are you unable to find what you need in our online catalog? Send us an email at pserve@beloitlibrary.org, and we will conduct a more extensive search for you.
We apologize, but we are unable to place holds on items in our Reference, Genealogy, and/or Professional collections.
Self-Service Holds Pick-Up
When your hold item is available, you will be notified by the manner in which you set up your account. You are now able to pick up your own holds and check them out using one of our self-check stations. You may, of course, still choose to bring your holds to any service desk for a staff member to assist you.
Book holds are shelved alphabetically on our Self-Service Holds Pick-Up shelves using a unique HOLD ID for each patron. Your code will consist of the first three letters of your last name and the last four digits of your library card number. DVD, Blu-ray, and Interlibrary Loans are held behind the main service desk and require staff assistance.
Please note: Items on hold must be checked out with the same card that placed the hold. We are unable to transfer holds to another library card.
