Beloit Public Library will host two open houses during National Library Week, inviting the public to Sneak-a-Peek of the future home of Discovery PLAYce and tour newly renovated meeting spaces at the library.

The open houses will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 and from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at Beloit Public Library, 605 Eclipse Boulevard.

During each open house, guests will be welcomed behind the plastic construction barriers to tour the unfinished Discovery PLAYce space and get a firsthand look at what is to come. Easels and display boards positioned throughout the space will show where each Learning Play Station and other points of interest will be located, helping visitors better understand the vision for the interactive early learning and family engagement environment.

Visitors will also be able to tour the library’s newly renovated meeting spaces on the second floor. Construction on those rooms is complete, though furniture and room technology are still to come.

The open houses will offer the community a chance to explore these evolving spaces, ask questions and learn more about how the library is continuing to grow and serve Beloit families. Free refreshments and swag will be available.

“We’re excited to welcome the community in for a preview of spaces that will strengthen the library’s role as a place for learning, connection and discovery,” said Library Director Nick Dimassis. “Discovery PLAYce will support early literacy and child development, and our renovated meeting spaces will create new opportunities for programs, meetings and community use.”

Discovery PLAYce is a future early learning and family engagement destination at Beloit Public Library designed to support play-based learning, literacy and caregiver-child interaction.
