At Beloit Public Library, we are dedicated to providing the community with an outstanding array of services that include rapidly evolving computer technology. Since last fall, that commitment has been disrupted due to overlapping technological issues affecting printing services, public computers, and phone lines. Understandably, library patrons have been frustrated.

Our IT manager, along with the many vendors with whom we contract, have worked tirelessly to problem-solve every and any possible solution to resolve the issues. Despite their daily efforts, the issues continued.

After an extensive internal review, the issue was identified and resolved. To help prevent future incidents of this kind, we are developing additional internal procedures and safeguards. At no time was library patron data compromised.

We want to assure the community we remain committed to protecting library resources and ensuring our services remain available for all who rely on them.

We appreciate the patience and support of our patrons throughout these last months and hope we can regain the trust of those who have experienced less than ideal circumstances with our technology. Libraries offer many great services, programs, resources, and materials, and we are eager to get back to providing them in the ways in which our community deserves and expects.
