We’re excited to share that Beloit Public Library’s newly renovated Children’s Area is now officially open to the public.

While there are still more exciting elements to come, we have opened the space so families can begin enjoying it now. We’re thrilled to welcome children and caregivers back and invite the community to stop by and see the progress for themselves.

The updated area already includes some of our beloved play stations, four children’s computers and a new self-check station, making the space more welcoming and convenient for families. Additional features are still on the way, including a new fish tank (in addition to the current one that is now located behind the main service desk), the return of our beloved FABL Children’s Tree, a giant Lite-Brite wall, new displays, new book bins, a Sensory Room, The Engine Room Program Room, family restrooms (with a surprise you’ll LOVE), and so much more.

Some shelving is also still in progress. New shelving for our board books, picture books, and easy readers has not yet arrived or been installed. In the meantime, we have placed a select number of these materials on carts for public browsing and checkout.

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to continue bringing the new Children’s Area to life in the weeks ahead. We hope you’ll stop in, explore the space, and watch it continue to grow.
