Library to Host Neil Armstrong Portrayal
July 5, 2019
Beloit Public Library will host a special Tween Time program from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, featuring nationally known actor Terry Lynch as he portrays astronaut Neil Armstrong.
The program, titled “Apollo 11, One Giant Leap: A Series of Firsts” marks the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20, 1969. Attendees will hear astronaut Neil Armstrong, portrayed by Lynch, recount the lead-up to the first moon landing, as well as the other “series of firsts” associated with that historic mission, including the first color transmission from Earth and the first time a customs report was filled out from another planet.
Terry Lynch specializes in historical portrayals to bring history to life for audiences young and old. His one-man interactive presentations give audiences a new, first-person perspective of the people and events that make up our history and culture. Terry co-authored two books with his wife, Laura, a certified educator for more than 20 years: Mistakes Happen: An Historical Guide to Overcoming Adversity and Nicholas Comes to America: The Story Of Santa Claus.
Tween Time programs are for kids ages 8-13 and their guardians. Library programs are always free.
