Pledges Received by November 15 Will Be Recognized at a Special Celebration Event
There is still time to be part of something extraordinary. The Beloit Public Library Foundation is encouraging community members to make their pledge to the 100 Extraordinary Women™ campaign by November 15 in order to be included in a complimentary celebration event.
The campaign, which supports Discovery PLAYce — an innovative early learning initiative opening in Fall 2026 — has already exceeded its initial goal of 100 donors, with 118 women participating so far and additional pledges continuing to arrive daily. Even though the original goal has been surpassed, new donations are welcome and encouraged, particularly from those wishing to honor a woman in their life.
Each $1,000 pledge (payable over five years) earns naming recognition on the Baby/Toddler Learning Play Station within Discovery PLAYce — a permanent and meaningful acknowledgment of the Extraordinary Women who helped make the space possible.
“This is a chance to uplift a woman who has shaped your life — a mother, grandmother, mentor, teacher, friend — by tying her name to a project that will shape the lives of Beloit’s children for generations,” said Lori Packard Dabson, 100 Extraordinary Women Co-Chair. “If you pledge by November 15, she will also be included in our special celebration event, where we will honor every woman who took part.”
Donors may make a gift:
- In their own name
- In honor or memory of a woman they admire
- As a holiday gift for someone who is “hard to buy for”
- As a group (friends, co-workers, book club, family members, etc.)
Suggested giving options include:
- $1,000 one-time
- $200 per year for five years
- Approximately $17 per month
“This campaign has exceeded expectations, but enthusiasm continues to grow,” said Mary Kaminski, Co-Chair. “We want to make sure anyone who wishes to participate has the chance to do so — and to be celebrated for their role in creating Discovery PLAYce.”
