Thanks to the generosity of early supporters, Beloit Public Library has reached its initial fundraising goal for what we expect the construction of Discovery PLAYce to cost. That is something worth celebrating. But while the cost to build the space is now covered, the campaign continues because the vision for Discovery PLAYce goes beyond opening day.
Discovery PLAYce is being created as a place where children and caregivers can play, learn, explore, and grow together. It is a long-term investment in Beloit’s children, families, and future. To keep that vision strong over time, we are continuing fundraising efforts to support the ongoing renewal of exhibits, hands-on materials, and learning experiences, as well as outreach that brings the spirit of Discovery PLAYce into the community.
This next phase of the campaign is especially focused on public participation. Discovery PLAYce is for everyone, and we want everyone to have the chance to be part of bringing it to life and sustaining it for years to come. Community support helps ensure that the space stays fresh, engaging, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of local families. It also helps us extend Discovery PLAYce beyond the walls of the library through outreach and shared experiences that connect more children with opportunities for play-based learning.
You do not have to make a large gift to make a meaningful difference. What matters most is participation. When members of the community come together to support something like Discovery PLAYce, they help show that Beloit believes in its children and values spaces that spark curiosity, creativity, literacy, and connection.
