Ecolab Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to Beloit Public Library to support the development of Discovery PLAYce.
Scheduled to open in Fall of 2026, Discovery PLAYce will transform the library’s children’s area into a 6,000-square-foot interactive learning lab designed for children ages 0–6 and their caregivers. It will feature immersive Learning Play Stations inspired by Beloit’s landscape, a robust picture book collection, and resources to strengthen caregiver confidence.
Ecolab announced the award in December as part of the company’s U.S. Regional NPO Grant Program. The grant will support programming that connects families to hands-on early learning experiences and encourages meaningful caregiver-child interaction.
“We want Discovery PLAYce to be a space where families feel supported, curious, and empowered from the moment they walk in,” said Nick Dimassis, Director of Beloit Public Library. “This grant from Ecolab Foundation helps us create meaningful programs that turn everyday play into learning — and ensure those experiences remain free and accessible to the families who need them most.”
The Ecolab Foundation grant supports Beloit Public Library’s mission by investing directly in Discovery PLAYce programming that will help children ages 0–6 build early literacy, communication, and social-emotional skills through guided play. These programs will also strengthen caregiver confidence by offering simple, practical ways adults can support learning at home and in everyday life.
