Sound Learning: Read-alongs Enhancing Literacy Development

For parents, teachers and childcare givers. Door prizes. Registration is not required.

A panel of early childhood experts will demonstrate the way picture book read-alongs combine text, illustration, and sound to create an expanded art form that enhances the development of visual and print literacy skills.

Featured speakers: Rock County author Jamie Swenson, Arrowhead Library System Youth Services Consultant Sharon Grover, and Blackhawk Technical College Early Childhood Instructor Michelle Weirich.

International Games Day

Join in the gaming fun with board, online and giant games throughout the day. 

Fruitcake Summit

December is National Fruitcake Month! Let's celebrate the much maligned fruitcake with a summit meeting of fruitcake fun. Enjoy the history of fruitcake, fruitcake tasting & voting for your favorite, a children's fruitcake craft, and "fruitcake" flinging! The event wraps up in the library entryway with hot cocoa and live music by the Badger Chordhawks! Fruitcake tasting starts at 12pm and continues while supplies last. Sponsored by Grebe's Bakery in Milwaukee. 

Stateline Author Meet & Greet
